As part of our centennial celebrations, we launched an exciting new contest to engage the next generation of engineers. In March, we invited engineering students from across the country to share their aspirations and plans for their degrees through a special contest hosted on LinkedIn.
Students were asked to share on a LinkedIn post what they plan to do with their engineering degree. This simple but impactful challenge was designed to spark conversation, grow our online student community, and showcase the passion and potential of Canada’s future engineers.
Our inaugural contest winner, Anastasiya Yermolenko, is an undergraduate student in aerospace/mechanical engineering at the University of Manitoba. She shared the following post regarding her post graduation plans:
“I am a mechanical (Aerospace) engineering student (studying at University of Manitoba) with a pursuit of inspiring more women to join STEM while working on various Aerospace projects as both a student and a professional. I plan on working on technological advances in AAM and various aircrafts while keeping a safe and sustainable environment.”
As the winner, Anastasiya will be joining us in Ottawa this October for the ACEC national leadership conference. By attending the event, she will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders from across the country and learn about the opportunities and challenges in our industry.
Our goal for this contest was to connect with students and raise awareness about Canada’s consulting engineering sector and the role its plays in shaping the future. By spotlighting student voices, we’re building bridges between the classroom and the boardroom—and celebrating the incredible talent coming up in the profession.
