ACEC Canada Engineering Student Competition – Official Contest Rules
1. Contest Sponsor
This contest is sponsored by ACEC (the “Sponsor”). This contest is not affiliated with or endorsed by any social media platform.
2. Eligibility
- Open to students currently enrolled in an accredited Canadian university engineering program.
- Participants must be legal residents of Canada.
- Employees, directors, and officers of ACEC and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
- This contest is not open to residents of Québec.
3. Contest Period
The contest begins on March 4, 2025, and ends on March 31, 2025, at 12:00 pm ET.
4. How to Enter
- Participants must compete the following by the deadline
- Follow ACEC on LinkedIn.
- Like the contest post.
- Tag 2 engineering students in the comments.
- Post a statement in the comments about how they intend to make an impact with their engineering degree once they have graduated.
- Only one entry per person.
5. Prize Details
- The total prize value is approximately but not to exceed $3,000 CAD.
- The prize consists of a paid trip to Ottawa, including airfare, meals, a two-night stay in Ottawa, and a complimentary ticket to attend our conference and centennial dinner.
- Prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. No substitutions or cash redemption will be provided.
6. Winner Selection & Notification
- The winner will be selected at random.
- The selection process will be conducted on April 4, 2025.
- The winner will be notified via a private LinkedIn message within 10 days of the selection. If the winner does not respond within 30 days, an alternate winner may be chosen.
- To claim the prize, the winner must correctly answer a skill-testing question and respond to our private message.
7. Odds of Winning
- The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
8. Privacy
- Personal information collected will be used only for the purpose of administering this contest, promoting the winner, and acting in accordance with ACEC’s privacy policy.
9. General Conditions
- ACEC reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if any issues arise that affect its integrity.
- By entering, participants agree to abide by these Official Rules.
